HOW TO GET HD TO A HD READY PROJECTOR

Hi everyone

I have a BENQ mp611c projector when i bought it they told me it is HD ready but i have come to realize that there is no HDMI slot or a DVI slot , all there is a component , svideo and two VGA ports . now My question is how can i get HD to my projector without selling my left kidney to make my Sony surround sound and HD PVR play in HD.

Anyone that can help, I will be eternal great full
 
Are you sure its HD?
If it had a DVI port then you could just get a simple converter from DVI-HDMI.
I havn't seen any that do HD and dont have DVI or HDMI.
The component is your best bet but I dont know if there are any converters for it.

HD ready is a fairly meaningless term. IDK why these people are allowed to get away with using it. HDReady /= HD! The device is either HD or it's not. In this case, not.
 
Yeah, when I bought my 1st Samsung plasma many years ago they said it's HD ready and I thought woohoo I can gooi HD at home. After a few weeks of doing research and all that I realised all HD ready means is that you can display and HD signal as it will scale as it needs to.

The Samsung plasma was a 480P:(

so i will not have HDTV VIA it so even if i get some kind of converter it will not be HD :-(

It will still look pretty mind you, but no it wouldn't be anywhere near HD. Your projector produces a picture with less than a quarter the resolution of full HD and about 55% of something like the DSTv "HD" broadcast.

No, you cannot get a better res than the 800x600 the projector has. The first HD res you get is 1280x720 or 1366x768 display res.

Having said that my 480P plasmas picture was MUCH better on the HD channels than standard so you will see a dramatic image clarity improvement
 
not the last question is where can I sell my kidney to afford a new projector lol . Thanks guys i really appreciate all your help
 
Why did you not consult the brain trust on here before buying it? Guess you'll learn :D
