I just got a new laptop and want to copy my music and video's et FROM my iphone TO my laptop. I've done a bunch of searching on line and either get directed to strange spware looking sites or get instructions on how to synch an iphone with a PC.

Does anyone have an idea how to copy from phone to PC?

Not 100% sure.

But what I would have tried is to install iTunes on the Laptop and do a "reverse" sync. JUST BE CAUTIOUS IT DOES NOT WIPE THE SONGS FROM THE IPHONE. As in sync the iPhone to nothing and losing your songs.

Download the app, its free and works well. You will have to give the files meaningful names but at least you will have them on your PC!

The easiest way, if you still have your old machine, is to copy your music and video to disc or flash drive and load it on your new machine.
If that's not an option you'll need to download an app like iPodRip http://www.ipodrip.net/ or iRip http://thelittleappfactory.com/ ... Pretty simple to use and they'll pull everything off your phone onto the new machine.

Thanks! These all seem to work great. i-funbox did the job. I've looked at the others really quickly and they look cool too.

Strange how 2 weeks of searching and finding nothing is answered in 5 minutes on myBB. why don't these things show up in google.

You're reading this thread wrong I think? I do want to use itunes. Itunes won't let me copy from phone to pc (it's a new pc so not sychn'd to songs on phone). There is of course a good chance I'm just a dumb user who hasn't clicked an obvious button or something in itunes but I did have a good look for how to do it without success.

Not at all... iTunes is my program of choice but that's the way it is with transferring music to a new machine... Have you transferred your apps yet? Oddly, that does work in iTunes... You simply click "File" and then "Transfer Purchases..." C'est la vie...

I think they discourage these kind of apps coz it means you can 'aquire' music 'backups' from anyone elses ipod music collection quite easily, whether the ipod was loaned, bought secondhand, lost & found, whatever, and we dont want to promote that kind of behavior do we!
