We all get our fair share of information on a daily basis delivered directly to our email inbox. Be it news from subscribed sources, funny emails from friends or the opinions of others on news of the day that can lead to very interesting mail discussions on any topic you can imagine.
One should actually keep track of the best emails one gets on a daily basis and perhaps review that folder once a year for a good read. A kind of collage of time capsules on the things that interested or amused you during the year. I am pretty sure many people do this and if you have a large repository to store mail in forever like is the case with Gmail you can do it without even thinking about it.
Inside those emails live the emotions of a break up with your boyfriend or girlfriend perhaps. If you were to leave this planet for some reason and your offspring were to open up your email and read back across the years, they are bound to learn something interesting about you. It could be a very interesting trip into the soul of a person if you can go into years of their mail and rummage through there. The same goes for modern day social media I guess. Where do all those status updates go when you replace them with a new one? What a story they could tell. I see a business opportunity here!
Then we get the more sinister ghosts. The details that remain on static websites, some so large you wonder how they could ever remain online without being spotted and driven out by some administrator somewhere whose job it is to keep all the souls fresh online so to speak. A big one and probably the biggest ghost I managed to run into via email notification from a buddy is the ghost of former president Thabo Mbeki. His ghost lives on in the ANC website where their newsletter promo under the listing of their Information Services tab still proclaims “Among its regular features is a column by ANC President, Thabo Mbeki.”
I am not sure what this says about the popularity of the ANC website as this is a massive ghost to keep roaming on the website of the country’s largest political party. It is an especially large mistake in light of the political infighting that went on in the ANC between current president Jacob Zuma and former president Thabo Mbeki. How is that detail overlooked? Is Thabo making a comeback perhaps? (LOL)
