E1820 router not detected

Yesterday the E1820 worked like a charm.

Tonight Ubuntu refuse to pick it up at all :mad:

It detects the micro-SD card and the virtual cdrom on the dongle, but that's that.

Tried reinstalling usb-modeswitch, but no joy :cry:

Anybody have any idea as to why this ugly thing happened?

What worked for me was this (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=90553) with this
usb_modeswitch option : (and a reboot)

Same story tonight, except now Ubuntu just won't pick it up at all. :mad:

And to top it all, adsl router is on the fritz. :mad: :cry:

Plugged the E1820 into wife's PC, enabled internet connection sharing, and is up and running again on CellC :D:D:D

Going to look around for another router... :(

Ok.

I think I got the root cause of the problem.

Have two laptops here, one with ubuntu 10.04 and the other with 10.10

v10.10 gives no issues and problems with the E1820, it just works, whereas v10.04 is the troublesome one.

Will perform an upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 and see if that resolves the issue.
