What does that mean? That ALL contract customers can get it or only people on SPECIFIC contracts? I'm confused? Or is this issue related to prepaid vs. contract?

Draft FCB, on behalf of Vodacom, accepted that the advertising was misleading based on the fact that the offer is only applicable to certain contract subscribers, and accordingly amended its advertising material to clearly communicate this fact.

If you read the article it states that only people on broadband advanced can make use of the offer.

Consider that Cell C is STILL CHEAPER even after factoring in your "free" "use in the middle of the night" GBs, I find it hard to care enough to bother figuring out the details. Plus I can use my Cell C GBs any time of day or night.
 
Very awesome! ASA you rock! I blew R289 on that stupid bundle, I even waited until 12 to download..

Happily on Cell C now! :)
 
Ok, There is some more misleading in the adverts...
Stating that you can browse and download for free from 00:00 till 05:00 , or you get 1gb data free everynight between 12 and 5 am.. So does that mean that if you bought 1gb data on your selected contract, that you have free 1gb data for every night till end of month.. or does it mean you only get 1 gb in total for the advertised time....?
 
Nevermind the complaints, those "been having it" ads are hilarious.
Good laugh each time I watch them.

Yea, but that is not a contract. You can buy "broadband advanced" BUNDLES on any contract. The article makes it sounds like you need to be a on SPECIFIC -contract- [i.e. a 500MB data contract or Talk 1000 or something] .

And clearly you can get it on ANY bundle above 500MB [advanced AND standard] . So the article is wrong anyway.

Is meer gelukkiger met CellC en Afrihost waar ek enige tyd enigeiets kan aflaai sonder om oor duur rekeninge te bekommer.

Die feit dat dit vir k0ntrak kliente is, is gevaarlik - hoe gaan jy weet of dit van jou k0ntrak gaan afkom of nie? (dink R10000 rekening aan die einde van die maand) Nee dankie...

I was also confused with the ad initially. Called the call center and they confirmed my prepaid number would receive double the megs between those hours(not sure if this is the same case). it subsequently depleted my data and I Called them quoting my call I made before purchasing the bundle.

needless to say, they returned my data to avoid such a situation.

At the time, the ad stated a minimum of 500MB should be purchased. These guys are a bunch of (censored)

I have to agree with ic here.

They think they'e giving value-added services for their customers, but how many of their customers will be able to download between 12 and 5? Not a lot. So nobody'll take advantage of it...

The biggest drawback, IMO, is the fact that you must have a contract in order to take advantage with that - and we all know the ridiculous heart-stopping OOB tariffs they charge.

In the meantime AfriHost, Mweb and CellC is busy with conquering the market... by the time the dinosaurs have woken up from their slumber, it'll be too late.
