Pity we cannot receive BVN via the TopTV decoder. :(
 
Ek kan dit nie lees nie. Sit die Nederlandse e-pos op asseblief. Die vertaling is uiters swak. Gaan BVN verdwyn van Monochoise?

Geachte heer/mevrouw,

U ontvangt van ons deze mail omdat u bij ons bekend bent als BVN kijker via MultiChoice in zuidelijk Afrika.

Per 1 februari 2011 loopt het contract af dat wij met MultiChoice hebben en **** u BVN niet meer via Multichoice ontvangen. Uiteraard heeft BVN voor u een alternatief, waarbij u onze zender “free to air” **** ontvangen via de Astra 4A satelliet. Ook de radio-uitzendingen van de Wereldomroep **** u via hetzelfde kanaal ontvangen. Het signaal van deze satelliet is al beschikbaar dus u **** direct overschakelen.

Uw huidige ontvangstset van MultiChoice is niet geschikt om BVN free to air te ontvangen. U dient dan ook een andere ontvangstset aan te schaffen, waarmee u de beelden van BVN rechtstreeks vanaf de satelliet **** bekijken. U betaalt hiervoor geen maandelijkse abonnementskosten.

Om BVN te kunnen ontvangen heeft u de volgende apparatuur nodig (prijzen onder voorbehoud):

Satellietontvanger met CI (Common Interface) welke geschikt is voor de ontvangst van DVB-S MPEG-2. Wij wijzen u erop dat een Multichoice of TopTV ontvanger niet geschikt is voor de ontvangst van BVN. Free to air ontvangers zijn verkrijgbaar vanaf EUR 90,- (856 ZAR).

In sommige gevallen kunnen er extra kosten bijkomen bijvoorbeeld een z.g. SCART-kabel om de TV met de satellietontvanger te verbinden. Soms wordt deze bij de satellietontvanger geleverd. Een dergelijke kabel kost ca. EUR 10,-. (95 ZAR). De installatiekosten zijn afhankelijk van locatie en installateur.



Dergelijke satellietontvangstapparatuur is verkrijgbaar bij gespecialiseerde leveranciers. De keuze in apparatuur is groot. Er zijn momenteel veel merken en typen satellietontvangers op de markt die elkaar in beeld- en geluidskwaliteit niet veel ontlopen. Wél is er onderling verschil in de stabiliteit van de software en in het installatie- en bedieningsgemak. Wij adviseren u een gerenommeerde leverancier te kiezen, die ook de installatie van de schotelantenne en apparatuur kan verzorgen en tevens service biedt. Laat, indien mogelijk, de leverancier de ontvangst van BVN demonstreren.

Oh great. BVN is the only reason my grandparents HAVE DSTV. Any way to lodge a complaint/petition against this now?
 
i'm on my way to the netherlands to find out if its possible to get a dutch decoder with smart card etc ... would be a lot better.. just have to figure out what that astra 4A satelite has to offer
 
Sal dit gaan werk met 'n Top TV dekoder? Dit lyk asof hulle nou dieselfde satteliet gaan gebruik.
 
Hulle sê in die email dat dit nie met TopTV sal werk nie. Ek hoop tog dat hulle met 'n ooreenkoms tussen BVN & TopTV voorendag kom.

You don't need TOP TV to get BVN. BVN is available for free on the same satellite as TOP TV Astra 4A. The installation is similar to a Top TV one same dish + LNB but a FTA (free to air decoder) no card no subscription. If you already have TOP TV all you need is a satellite 2 way splitter and the FTA decoder.
 
Ja dit werk net met 'n FTA decoder. Maar dit kan samen met a TOP TV installatie werk (net 'n 2 way splitter FTA ontvanger nodig)
