Telkom defends against 'unsubstantiated' allegations

I have to feel some compassion for Mr Hedberg, he was somewhat thrown in the deep.
 
Some of the allegations in the documents which have been brought into the public domain have tarnished the reputation of Telkom

Would that be the reputation of providing some of the worst customer service in SA (which is no easy task by the way), of not thinking more than 6 months ahead, of abusing their monopolistic position and goverment ties to bleed their customers dry while never needing to innovate or improve anything, and of being by far the biggest single reason why South Africa is stuck in the middle ages broadband-wise and getting further behind every month, while paying through the ears for it? That reputation?

Yeah, better not tarnish that. Some guy living under a rock somewhere might not hate them yet.

Fire + smoke are usually friends. As much as Telkom dismisses all these claims, I still believe that some one is guilty of most of those allegations and have o pay. Its time that SA companies take their executives to task and jail them for any irregularity that arises instead of golden handshakes.

Not true:
The findings of the Ernst & Young investigations have been handed to the South African Police Services and the National Prosecuting Authority for consideration. The SAPS and NPA have subsequently instituted criminal investigations into certain activities at Multi-Links.

An internal disciplinary process has also been instituted against various Telkom employees for failing to comply with company policies and for mismanagement. All disciplinary processes are a confidential matter between Telkom and the affected employees, and Telkom cannot disclose further details.

While most of the allegations were found to be unsubstantiated, the Board is taking appropriate action in some instances on the basis of the findings of the forensic report.

All * I * know is that I am still sitting at 384 -- after so much hype and promises ( and lots of new marine fibre )

Until Telkom make good on their hype ( BS ) management can go and play in the traffic after dark in Guguletu :twisted::mad:
