The annual MyBroadband Conference has been going for 5 years and the 12th of November saw a bigger turn out than ever.
Over 500 delegates from the IT and other related industries were in attendance.
Each year we are able to attract more delegates who are keen to hear what the industry players have planned and how they see broadband and telecoms moving forward.
A big thank you must go out to everyone who attended. It was excellent to see so many forumites in the audience and your support and participation forms the foundation of MyBroadband.
Another big thank you is due to Vodacom. Without Vodacom’s support we would not be able to host such a large event and the smooth running of this year’s event can be attributed to all the hard work the Vodacom team put in behind the scenes.
Our two main sponsors – WebAfrica and Cisco – were also integral to helping us host this event. Both sponsors approached us very early on and wanted to find out how they could get involved, it was a big boost for us to have such prominent players within the telecoms sector partnering with us so early on.
Our other sponsors – Neotel, Telkom, BlackBerry, DFA, G-Connect, Miro distribution, Panda Security and Vox Telecom – were also very keen to be present and to help us make this a premier event.
It was great to see how eager companies are to interact with consumers and industry delegates – something which a few years ago was rare and difficult as there was no platform for this to happen.
Without the financial backing of the local IT industry it would not be possible to open the doors for free to the MyBroadband Community and I’d like to thank everyone involved and everyone who attended.
It is, as always, an honour to be part of MyBroadband and to have such a great community behind us and it is heartening to receive the support of so many IT companies in South Africa. I look forward to seeing you all again at the conference next year and hope to add a few more surprises to the programme line-up.
To help us improve on this year’s conference please fill out the short survey, it should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.
