In the UK it’s the women who are showing the men how to shop for bargains online.
According to sales statistics (Q1 for 2008) from Shopper’s Revenge female bargain hunters dominate the market beating men on both the average amount spent and the number of items purchased.
A whopping 28% of women said they had spent over 1000 pounds online compared to 16% of men.
The most expensive purchases for women were:
Holidays (28%)
Furnishings (19%)
Groceries (11%)
Gadgets (9%)
TV or audio equipment (7%)
For men it looked a bit different with technology purchases topping their most expensive purchases list:
IT related (18%)
Holidays (16%)
TV or audio equipment (15%)
IT equipment (11%)
Car (9%)
