Ja well, Nu Metro Bedforview sucks donkey Balle!!!!!!!!! Went to watch Avatar and Alice in wonderland there and both times the sound was so sucky it sounded like a fcking transistor radio! I got up both times to complain and nothing was done. The guy that I complained to just looked at me like i am a piece of crap that crawled out of the sewer! I hate you Nu Metro!

When you charge me double the normal price for a 3D movie, I want the sound to make my intestines vibrate.

I vowed from then on that I will never ever visit any Nu Metro again for the rest of my natural life, unless they upgrade all their cinemas to be on standard. I side with Ster Kinekor on this one.
 
What OC said, nu metro bedford is ball sacks, ster kinekor eastgate is a million times worse :sick:

But nu metros Pantheon @ Emperors is the best cinema in the country
 
Go to NuMetro in Eperors, oc, it will blow you away! seriously their sounds is truly something to hear.

the treble/mid range is not over-loud, and the bass is also not a constant drone......the mid range is at a perfect volume, and the bass, which pumps ONLY when needed, is really awesome.
Really, it's not bass like "wow, thats loud", but more like DEEP bass that you feel deep down in your spine.

I would rate their sound a 9.9/10, heh

Yeah, the cinemas just suck. I went to the cinemas this last weekend. Last time until they get HD 3D. Im not interested in paying again for something my current screen does better.

See that is what I like. I love deep bass. But what made my experience in Bedford Centre so bad is I could not hear the dialect going on. I actually had to concentrate to try and hear what was being said.

Pitty I dont even know where Emperors is. lol.

OH...Does anyone know if Monte Casino El Grande is 3D enabled? That is the only reason I might go to a Nu Metro again, I just love the leg room in that cinema. I could easly take a blanky and fall asleep on those chairs lol
 
I'm not really fussed. A movie is a movie, 2D or 3... They must just lower the price. Paying R42 (At Nu Metro at the Waterfront) for a ticket is not kosher hey. I almost fell on my back. And that's for the 2D Harry Potter. Mind you, it was Harry Potter, so it was worth it, but there's no way that I'll pay that for a substandard movie...
 
Lol OC Emperors is next to the airport, its like 20min on a good day, we only go there to watch movies now.

Next trip is Tron: Legacy :D

Yes it is. I watched Avatar there in 3D and it was my single best experience watching any movie. Leg room. Arm room. And the sound and screen was way bigger than anywhere else.
 
The ASA was not convinced, saying that the actual message conveyed by Ster Kinekor’s advertising is different from the intended message, and is therefore likely to mislead consumers.

The ASA subsequently upheld the Nu Metro complaint, ordering Ster Kinekor to remove this advertising with immediate effect.

Regardless of your preference, that's pure arrogance by Ster Kinekor.
 
I was really disappointed at Ster Kinekor - went to experience the re-release of Avatar but it was showing at a newly installed 3D projector but they were having problems and was never able to watch it.

I did receive a complementarity ticket - but never had a chance to watch it before the movie went off circuit.

*Strange that they sell tickets moments before the movie know that the show is cancelled*


Interesting thing - have watched a few 3D movies at the same cinema but different screens and can noticed a huge difference in picture quality (darker and less dynamic colour of picture) - seems as if the original 3D is superior than the newly installed 3D (I wonder if it is a cost cutting on purchasing more cost effective projectors and cutting on quality...)

Well when ever there is a article and its about advertising disputes This line is always there and they are never ever convinced "The ASA was not convinced"

And I will second that. This is the only cinema I will go to watch a movie - 3D or not... but 3D has made it just so much better!
Have watched all 3 Lord of the rings there - awesome awesome sound - have watched Shrek, Ice Age, G Force, Avatar and more there in 3D and every one of them was an amazing experience ... the leg room is that added bonus :)
 
NuMetro is so much better.

That said, 3D films generally are an absolute waste of money.
 
numetro menlyn is seriously disgusting, i'd rather go to sterkinekor brooklyn.
 
When I went to go watch Toy Story 3 at Nu Metro Walmer Park they actually turned the sound down 50% about 40 min into the movie... it was so soft that you could hear people sipping on their cool drinks... I then stood up and went to go ask the manager... she then told me that two people in the cinema out of 150 complained that it was too loud... After staring at her for about a min she said there is nothing she could do... so then I went back into the cinema, went to go fetch my 15 friends and when we came out and she saw how big our crowd was she all of a sudden wanted to turn the volume back up... I said no thanks... we would like a refund. She ended up doing it. Stupidly enough 2 months later I went again to the same Nu Metro and this time the 3d movie was zoomed in so that one third of the screen was cut off... went to complain and they said they waiting as this projector is faulty... LOL... Ster-Kinekor is the only place is seems!
 
The comments about the futility of 3D is already enough to warrant that it needs to ne scrapped.
It does not enhance the movie going experience 1 bit.You're already getting screwed for the prices of snacks so to pay premiumt for the movie is just insane.
 
can't anybody do any advertising in this country without someone running to the ASA. I've seen the ads and as a consumer instead of believing that Ster Kinekor is the only place to really experience 3D, my response was "yeah right". To Nu Metro, instead of b*tching and whining, rather focus on creating an excellent customer experience at your cinema's and punt that. I love going to Hyde Park Nu Metro cause I can take Seattle Coffee and Hagen Daaz into the movie, nothing gets up my nose more than some numbnut telling me "you can't take foodstuff that you haven't bought here into the cinema" then start selling coffee idjit!
 
we only go to Ster Kinekor, coz we use Discovery Vitality for cheaper movie tickets... didn't even know the 3D movies were more expensive on normal price.
went to see ToyStory3 with kid a few months ago, got the 3D specs as we entered the cinema (free to keep or hand back afterwards for recycling).
Today took kid to watch Narnia 3D.... dude at the door checking the tickets who used to give the 3D specs asked "have u got the spectacles? otherwise they R5 each".... I'm like WTF! I understand they try to reduce costs & wasting etc etc... but at least tell us when we book the tickets, not as I'm about to go into the cinema, now I gotta fork out cash, that I usually don't carry on me.
