Google Search location - I'm not in the UK

For the love of Pete - how do I change my Google location ?

It insists on telling me I'm in the UK and giving me UK results.

The very unhelpful Help hasn't helped.

I had that a while back - can't remember how to fix it, but it has to do with the very odd way that google sets your default search preferences... Lemme see if I've still got the google search somewhere in my history.
 
wild shot, but maybe just change your host file entry to resolve to the local?

here's the entry in my hosts file (seems to work okay)

To add:

chromestory: that wont fix what language the Google search is in.

in your search manager make a new one and give it a name and keyword and use this url:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?{google:RLZ}{google:acceptedSuggestion}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}sourceid=chrome&ie={inputEncoding}&q=%s

dont forget to make it default

Or .co.za if you so prefer obviously.
