Connection Quality to North America

Hey there, wonder if someone could comment on the quality of network connections from Cape Town or Johannesburg to North America -- particularly the west coast. What is latency like to servers in Vancouver or Seattle? Do you find you drop a lot of packets? What about download speeds? Comments or general opinions welcome.

Also, if anyone would be willing to post their speedtest.net results to servers in the Pacific Northwest that would be fantastic. Also whether it was from residential or business broadband.

I'm on a 4Mbit line and unshaped connection:

I have no idea why the pingtest latency is so much lower than the latency value on the speedtest, must be different servers or something. Speed is spot on though.

EDIT: Oh yes, I'm in Cape Town and this is just a plain old copper residential DSL line.
