A call from Core survey group after signing up for 5gig data?

I'm an MTN contract holder and about an after signing up for the 5gig data deal I got a call from a guy who said he was from Core Survey group representing MTN or Vodacom. It seemed a bit dodge and my conspiracy theory dial is dialed to "Second Shooter on the Grassy Knoll".

Anyone else experience this?
 
i just got a call from cell c themselves asking what my experience with the usb modem, speeds and customer service was like.
