LimeWire Beware?

I have not used LimeWire much just for the odd music file. I however recently was looking for an older version of Norton so I did a search. On downloading this file I found it was nothing more than a Trojan, fortunately McAfee sorted this out as I was extracting the file. Did another search and notice that quite a few of the Norton files were around 15.5 Kb strange that different apps would be the same size. Any way I did a few searches on other Apps to find a similar file size in a number of these. So it looks like LimeWire has now also been made totally useless by people keeping these copies on there systems.:mad:

This will be the case with all P2P applications. Some of the files will be a virus or trojan. One should know this before using any P2P program.

I could not find an earler version that I needed. Anyway it work out ok after all as I found my old disk so it was sorted out :)
 
Limeware, Kazaa, Ants, Bitcomment or any other torrents P2P program is not to blame and they warn you on their security's descriptions. It is the P2P computer the data is stored on or software that exploits the P2P network. The problem you have is Norton, crap throw away, use free AVG. never had a problem always kills these trojans before they can even run. Make a habit of scanning the download directory's after using P2P software. Norton software always creates more problems than Trojans..own experience with compatibilitys. Even their boldest partner gave them the Boot
