Can't login to facebook on Chromium Web Browser

I am using Ubuntu 10.10 and I have a problem login to my facebook profile using Chromium. On the other hand Firefox cannot browse anywebsite. Must I get another web browser just for facebook because I have also installed the facebook software and it logs in but shows only text from the facebook and the links are not working.
 
Is only Facebook giving you problems? Or are there other sites playing around just a little.

Try pinging Facebook from the terminal, see if that works alright. and see if there isn't maybe a update for your web browsers.
Try installing other web browsers. Test, test, test, that's how you find the problem.

Make sure your IPv6 is off.
 
can you get onto the website?

you need to provide a better description of what exactly happens eg error messages.
 
hmm...do you add that 's' at the http?

Some months ago I could do nothing on Facebook, the only way i could do something was by ADDING that 's' to the http....maybe take the 's' away and 'GO' the page again.
 
Delete your browser cache and try again.

Silly question....how fast is your connection? First time Facebook logs in, it always take a bit of time to load your profile.

My connection is 384 kbps and I get download speed up upto 40KB/s on Ubuntu. I deleted the browser cache and tried but still no difference.

That's not great speed, but should be ok. And all other web sites work, except for Facebook?

Have you tried your bank's online banking site? Does that work?
 
On 3G. My brother is experiencing the same thing. It hangs, as in always says: "Connected to facebook.com," that's only on Mozilla. Other browsers function just fine. Don't kno what's the issue though.

Have you tried with a broadband connection?
 
Ive found Chrome on Ubuntu buggy. Im all for Chrome as its my main browser, but yah. Weird stuff happens. My latest adventure with Chrome is that if I try Tweet. It closes all my browser windows. Life wtf. So much for sandboxing.

Apparently my Twitter crashouts have something to do with geolocation libraries.
