All we do is complain, even when you are being helped!

This is what I DO NOT understand about this country.

The SECOND someone is trying to do something good, something to help people, everyone starts bombing them down.

Lets look at the SAOL situation. They came out with incredible pricing options. Now everyone is throwing insults and accusations all over the place! Is it human nature, or a South African specific culture that demands repetitive complaining about something that will ultimately help you.

WHO CARES whether they have their own bandwidth or SAIX bandwidth. That is not the point. The point is, they are trying to come out with the lowest price possible, to help you! And SO WHAT if they make some profit in the long run. Isn't that what a business is there for?

Another example is openweb. they have been blasted for their low prices.

WA have been blasted for announcing their draft pricing, after everyone "broke their F5 buttons" in anticipation for the announcement.

IS in general have been blasted! Why accuse / insult ISP's and other backbone providers when the ACTUAL blame is with TELKOM/SAIX??

I am at a loss for words....I will never understand.....

if we don't complain .. nobody listens .... and the telkoms of SA will assume that people are happy and carry on screwing us ...

And here is the best place to complain about telcoms issues ...

My business will go to the best offer and given the little (tho not non-existent) choice we have between products, the price is THE biggest thing for me. I hav a feeling im not the only one that feels like this. So, yes, isps r trying their best for prices but business is business.. and that works for them as much as it works for us

As i've mentioned before elsewhere, it's a South African thing, thats why we can't seem to get it together, we always have to argue first.

Your name and your rant sounds typical of a Telkom Guy, Nobody shot nobody down, SAOL came out making some half baked statements that was questioned, I was one of them YES, He answered my questions. Openweb advertised his prices and again some questions were asked, again nobody shot him down only wanted answers, except his competition gave him some of course. If you cannot give a proper response rather do not do it at all or take the abuse and answer correctly. SAOL did, and that was great!

Also if you create some expectation and you do not meet them you leave yourself open for some abuse

The problem I have with this country is why people will just lie down and except what is, must be . Bullocks!! Stand up and show your dissatisfaction, you do not have to accept anything without queries. That is why this country is what it is and Telkom got away with it as they did, for exactly the same reasons, enough is enough. Mass action is required for open unfair exploitation, and nobody have to shrink away and say thanks if you get half-baked answers (Like SAOL initially did) or Telkom is perceived to do good or change his stance. The old way of "Ah shame his trying, give him some rope" should not apply anywhere. So beat it "do-gooder", wake up

I appreciate ppl not trying to take me for a ride, but if you want to talk about "this country".. talk about how we seem to praise people for not being corrupt and not ripping us off. THATS how telkom gets away with it, they drop their prices 3% are we roll over for them
