Computer game addict accused of killing son

Sad sad sad...

But ppl like this would have found another way to neglect or abuse their child if you ask me.... Computer games are not the culprit, they're a symptom...
 
Last month a 15-year-old boy committed suicide after killing his mother for scolding him over excessive playing of computer games.

In May a 41-year-old man was sentenced to two years in jail after he and his wife left their baby daughter to die of malnutrition while raising a "virtual child" on the Internet.

In February, a 32-year-old man died after reportedly playing games for five days with few breaks.

So, including woman in the article, that amounts to four nutjobs out of 217 million people who play games online? Holy crap, it's an epidemic!

The article only covers 4 cases in South Korea. We all know there are many more nutjobs all over the world who do the same (neglect their kids while addicted to gaming). I'll bet the number of cases is much higher than many of us would guess. But all the same, BOFH is right, these ppl would find other ways to fulfill their addictions...

Yip. It's a psychological disorder. It's like blaming water for crime because all criminals consume water in one form or another.
 
The problem these days is simple: It's always the wrong females who end up pregnant. This sounds like a typical case of children getting in the way of the parents' lifestyle.

This is the result and as already said, there would have been another way for them to abuse or neglect their children if it wasn't the video games.
 
All these cases involved people who were breathing too! BAN BREATHING!
 
You might as well blame the internet for doing this to her and not the game... or even the PC!
They dont because gaming is such an easy scape goat.

You know, we're doing this all wrong. We should blame her parents first and foremost for not sterilising her.

i cannot agree more! i thought i sat in front of my pc a lot.. but the guy that sat in front of his pc so much he died.. that is insane!
