cant get Opera to work on 6680 and Vodacom

I'm having trouble getting Opera to connect to the internet on my Nokia 6680 and Vodacom. I have the internet.GPRS profile download and I pretty sure it works because I can connect to gmail and download mail via Messaging, and I can use the default web browser ok. When I launch Opera I tell it to use internet.GPRS as the connection but then after I enter a web address it just says connecting to server and then nothing else happens. Page is blank. If I try another site the exact same thing, blank page - no error messages. I have updated to the latest version of Opera but the same problem. I presume lots of people are using Opera on their 6680's - any idea what I might be doing wrong?

You got enought memory on your phone? where did you install it to : phone or memory card? I funny enough had the exact same problem about 2 hours ago, but its sorted now. Uninstalled some apps, and rebooted the phone...

i tried uninstalling all the apps - installed Opera again - rebooted the phone. I have about 7MB phone memory free. Opera is installed to the memory card, it has 28MB free. C: has 5MB free - but still the same problem - just a blank page.

any other ideas?

Have you got the latest EPOC file?
I had problems with an older version of Opera, the new one seems a lot better

finally got opera working

okay, its taken me a few weeks but I have finally got Opera working on my 6680. Problem was there was a proxy set under my Internet.GPRS access point (which I downloaded from the vodacom4me website).

I deleted the proxy from Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Access Points -> Internet.GPRS -> Advanced Settings

proxy was 196.6.128.12:8080 - don't know if it was needed but everything (including Opera now) seems to work without it.
