Pietermaritzburg - Internet connection options for online gaming

Hey guys

Im new to this forum but have been on many others and playing online games for years.

Here's my situation:
I stay in a suburb in Pietermaritzburg and been using a 4mb ADSL connection for a long time. Unfortunately 2 weeks ago the Telkom lines in my area were stolen (apparently for the 3rd time) but it is the first time the community has been affected and we now have no Telephone or adsl connectivity. Telkom have advised some of the community members that they are no longer going to replace the stolen lines. This means no online gaming for me, the thought of which makes me...

Does anyone know if there are any other means of connectivity or ISP's available in Pietermaritzburg that I can use for "online gaming".

I have already tried 3g via my MTN and Vodacom cards but I only get at max a 2 bar 3g connection resulting in very high pings online...

Usually when this happens there is only one option if you are a avid gamer, and that is to move to a new area..

cellc 4gs or whatever they call it should be ok


or try telkom wimax

Perhaps even wifi.

Maybe you can connect up to a local network if there are any in the area
