So got an Android hTC desire and lost R120plus airtime over the past 3weeks, as a payg customer this is suicide! Can't download apps coz I have to fork out R2 a meg (mtn, but Vodacom n cell c are the same), I'm attracted to Virgin's 60c per meg, and do not have the cash flow to purchase bundles coz I virtually get R60 pm ,R120 on the occasion, from my pops... hence only R10 for msgs/voice if I were to buy a data bundle... Virgin have the R99 voucher with 500sms that in actuality do not expire (So I've read) which sounds coolio! Other issue is the lack of 3g on virgin but some people have reported it working, i wonder if the 60c per meg still holds for 3g.... The other thing is the per second billing; Does Virgin have per second billing coz 8ta are per min billing that's why I have no interest in them.. R1.99 is much better than R2.85 per min on MTN, but I would prefer R1.50 ie cell c all day rate obviously... I guess the main reason I'm interested in Virgin is the fact that I have an Internet phone, hTC Desire and 60c p meg is chips compared to current R2 per mb. SOMEONE TALK ME OUT OF IT PLZ, lol... MTN and Vodacom also have cheapish all day rates - around R1.75 per minute billed per second anytime. Cell C's R1.50 per minute is billed per minute though. Sms's are 50c anytime.

For data you could buy a 10 MB bundle for R10 from MTN which lasts 60 days and you will pay R1/MB out-of-bundle. At least this will half your data costs.

MTN's 141 loyalty points are free and you can transfer points from other MTN phones. If your mom/dad is on MTN then sign them up for loyalty points. In a month or two you could transfer their points to your number and use it for sms bundles. I have not been paying for sms in a long time thanks to loyalty points.

Yeah I got truck loads of loyalty points, oi 60 day period is good, and that 10mb bundle is fantastic! Great reply brother! My word, cell c charge per min, that's f'd up! Senseless changing to Virgin Mobile? Merry Christmas mate
