Jambo everybody
this message is a moan, story and plea of help.
I have a real headache now and I beleive its from the pain and suffering of believing the lie... My father is no tech fundi...far from it I would say, and after couple months playing on his new powerbook g4 toy.. he decided he wanted 3g internet. After figuring out all the garbage from the facts the million desk clerks and phone operators from vodacom telling me one thing to the other... total contradiction "yes it does" "no it doesnt" "dont know" all the while having to put up with that trash pop techno nonsense music in the background!! (Damnit vodacom that must be fixed, if any reprasentatives are reading this SORT IT OUT that music S U X... big time) (i think its actually worse than the old flutes of telkom!!!)
anyway the story carries on but we'll fast forward so I can go and sleep. Anyway the old pops decided yes after it all, but his excitement turned to gloom when every business (every) that dealt with vodacom and everything to do with cellphones from plettenburg bay all the way down to mossel bay had zippo nutting no 3g cards nothing. So a little bit dampened he gave up on it for a while untill today we recieved a neat little package, my father found out he could rent a 3g service through the business he works for... the package was intact but missing the cd.. I thought no prob I'll just download them, there I was, sitting in the cramped internet cafe ready to sort it out finished. Flexing my eyes through the vodacom webpage..aaaah mmm uhh.. yes there it is 50 meg file windows and mac drivers, no prob with this 512adsl connection they have here.... what? only 5k per second? strange hmm well guess I'll have to wait the 2hrs.
2hrs and R40 later I extract my little file only to swear lightly under my breath (Im cramped here) all I find are windows compatible files and files to do with windows. (dont get me wrong there might be some mac file hiding in there somewhere.... but I didnt find them)
strutting through the town I found 2 vodacom shops (something I should've done in the first place) but you guessed it they had never even installed a 3gcard why on common sense planet would they have the cd??? I mean its only a vodacom service nothing to do with vodacom.
I was told very nicely that the "George branch" will have the cd and she was correct, hurrray got it... something wasnt happy I phoned support again breath of relief as the phone rang straight through that techno only to be told "you see.... we dont do macintosh... you see" ok fiddled around at last connected a few hitches and glitches removing and inserting the card till it was happy. Now im home browsing the internet on HARDLY 7 times the speed of whatever they advertised I forget and every time I recieve data the speakers on the powerbook moan with static or interference I dunno.... my head hurts.
you listened to my bore and I suppose the only thing Im really asking in this thread is get rid of that techno music if someone can and is there ANYTHING on earth I can do to stop this 3g card interfering with my poor speakers
