Hi

Maybe this is an old theme, but things change, so the question remains relevant ... :)

Please post what p2p network you use and whether it is good. I use Limewire, and lately it is giving me very slow speeds in general, i.e. 3 or 4 kbps on average. I have ADSL 192, but got speeds of up to 30 kbps at some times.

What is better?

torrents..... speed varies depending on time of day, no of seeds, no peers
1k-50k

hehe, i am on iBurst, and use the iBurst DC++ hub. Speeds are generally pretty decent (15-20kB/s), but have gone up to 40kB/s some days. This of course only applies if you are on iBurst, since the traffic between peers on iBurst is both uncapped and unshapped...

I'm on ISDN 128k and with my torrents they usually come down at a constant 14k/s, same with most local DC++ hub's.. The line may only be 128k, but there is NO shaping whatsoever, so my downloads usually saturate the line:)

I might be looking into Phex, which apparently has the ability to create private networks, i.e South Africa only. This could be really good when capped.

But it looks ugly as hell in OSX :-(

Limewire - with MrBeep's proxy. Average 30 - 40 Kbps from good sources.

I use limewire on the same proxy 60-70kb on good sources (Iburst)
Its pretty good but not really for music, prefer soulseek just for music

Whatever you do stay clear of torrent-box.org - the site has been offline for over a week now and there is no sign of that changing.

Torrents. local averages about 50kBps sometimes it slows a bit during the day, International 0 to 30 kbps. Depends on seeds and how many torrents I have open.
