MSI K8N Neo2-FX, whats it like?

Im basicly looking for a cheapish 939-pin AMD mobo that has AGP, im planning on using a Athlon64 3500+ with it.

The MSI K8N Neo2-FX caught my eye as it is a cheap board with quite a few features. and well i just want to know what people's experience with the board has bin, and also how it performs to say the Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939.

One thing that iv noticed is that the MSI only has a 800Mhz HyperTransport Link, while the Gigabyte board has a 1000Mhz one, and i was wondering how will this affect system performance?:confused:

I have the MSI Neo2 939 Platinum mobo and it is a very stable highly overclockable board with all the features you will need. Mine only comes in AGP so beware if you were thinking of upgrading to a 7800gtx wich only comes in PCI express. Otherwise its a great board for the price.

Im aware of that, cant quite afford a 7800gtx right now, i'll proberly upgrade to a new board and all in bout 6 months, but im just looking for smthing to last me in the mean while.

BTW Whats the speed of ur HyperTransport link?
 
What I have done is Im running the board in single channel overclocked and hypertransport @ 4x. It is as stable as a rock. I am upgrading end of November to a Nvidia 6800GT which should be enough for now.

Realy not a bad board:)
 
I assume you want to keep your old AGP Gfx card then? What card do you have?
 
Yep im keeping my AGP for now, its nothing to brag about, a FX5700, but im also (hopefully) getting a 6800gt before the end of the year.

Basicly what i want to know is will ther be a performance differance between a mobo with a 1000Mhz HyperTransport link and one with a 800Mhz link????
