Ok yes yes I've seen archers charts (thanx man for all the work)
Now I obviously plan to unlock the 6950 but is it even worth considering the 570?
I haven't done to much shopping around yet, but i've found:
Inno3D 570 ~R3600
MSI 6970 ~ R3800
I'm definitely considering the VTX3D 6950 but would prefer sapphire or xfx of course :D
I can't find to many 6950 at a decent price ~R3300 ish

Help please if you see any good deals and assist me in my choice :)

Edit my card is for sale :p

Just a fair notice on the HD6950s, not that I'm trying to pimp *cough* push you in any direction ;) , but we're very low on the VTX3D HD6950 stock currently.

The Inno3D GTX570 is also a great card, if you must have nV, definitely a good choice. In terms of value-for-money, the HD6970 is a more difficult sell. It's not really much faster than the HD6950 (heck, they're basically the same card anyway), but it's a fair bit more expensive.

vtx3d is ref design its just new brand, nothing wrong with it, it will unlock without any problems.

i got me the club3d, and unlocked it with asus voltage tweak bios, really nice :)

why would it sell 6970? 6950 does is one with click of button :)

they would buy 6970 and it wont sell, so they be losing money.

not everyone have cfx or sli board, sli and cfx uses more power and heat.

Can someone explain to me why a 6970 would ever be preferable to a gtx570? They trade blows on most charts, but where 570 wins it's usually by a pretty hefty margin, and costs less and has Physx advantage. 6950 bios unlocking is a lucky fluke for AMD here - 69xx cards aren't nearly as competitive as we'd like to have hoped.

I was actually thinking the same thing, hence why I was considering it.. At the moment i'm leaning toward either the msi 6950 or the inno3D 570
Well don't be, there's no reason for it.
Warranties and after sales service are usually the reasons for it, as well as bundled goodies...

With respect to the 570s they have varying core and memory speeds!! It's hard to get a proper performance benchmark of them. I do feel they beat the 6970 most of the time, but like
Inno3D 780/3200
Leadtek 732/3800
EVGA 797/3900

Now of course I'm going to OC as you know me :) but these Inno3D 570's look like quite a deal

Yea look my vote is for the 570. I think it's the best card around at the moment and the numbers back me up.

6950 unlocks to 6970 though doesn't it?

It's not always the case, I've read of a few being very unstable at even lower clocks than that of a 6950, having been flashed to a 6970. So it's not guaranteed.
But the vast majority do unlock without a problem. But it's not guaranteed, and I want the performance of a 6970/570 so is it worth the gamble where I could be stuck with a 6950?
maybe maybe not...

EDIT: I've found this: http://www.nivo.co.za/buy~msi.nvidia.geforce.gtx.570.graphics.card.n570gtx.m2d12d5.~p23793 and it's really tempting! Must just find out what wootware and others can get it for :)
