Court halts Telkom’s new ADSL billing system

Excellent News. Well done DotCo. Now time for Icasa to get to work.

Now ICASA must stick to their guns and make the monthly cap higher, with unlimited local access, like they stated in their post ADSL public hearing findings document.
 
Well done guys. Since you have succeeded one wonders why that useless ICASA should even exist anymore. I do not see that they have achieved anything remotely as good as this and thus seems that they are just an overhead cost where more money is thrown at bureaucracy that achieve nothing and do not even know where there responsibilities are, as their response to complaints have shown so far. To think that they classify SAIX and Telkom differently. Forget about maintaining them, fire them and open up the marketplace

ernstn : That is a very shortsighted view. Who would regulate the market/spectrum/etc? You cannot just let people do what they wish.
ICASA has it's flaws like any other organization, but they have done a pretty decent job (although not great). Remember they do a lot more than regulate Telkom and ADSL

ICASA has almost no idea about what is going on mate.. they are a non-indepandant failed organisation imho atm.

Well done dotco! You see, if you stand up for your rights you get results. To the ISP`s who did not get involved... tough luck.
