Best triple monitor setup, with ATI Eyefinity?

What would be the best triple monitor setup, that one could get locallly, for less than about R8k?

My preferences would be:
-LED
-24"
-1920x1080, or 1920x1200 (which seems very rare but would be better IMO)
-thin bezels?
-DVI, and DisplayPort!

I would be using it mainly for work, so 16x10 would be awesome... but after hours - also non work related stuff :p
I really do not mind black bars whilst watching tv series, so long as there is not terrible backlight bleeding. There are normally black bars with most movies anyway.

I have already looked at the entire samsung LED range... however they do not look like the kind of monitors you would use in a triple monitor setup...
Take the BX2450 for example, it has a black bezel, which has transparent glass/plastic around it! :O

Any suggestions, ideas are welcome, thanks.

Dell screens seem to have the thinnest bezels currently, and you can often rotate then into portrait mode. I do also recall some stuff being shown at CES this year, but that could take as long as 6 months to filter into retail.
 
Well I am using the Samsung P2450H's and they do a pretty good job in eyefinity. Nothing wrong.

Not sure about the dells, but you ain't going to get much better with regard to the bezel. One of things.
 
For Eyefinity, given the specs that you're considering, take a look at the BX2440:

Very similar in terms of specs to the BX2450, but much better for Eyefinity because of:
-Height and orientation adjustable stand (portrait and landscape)
-VESA complaint mounting points
-Thinner bezel, no glass surrounding it
 
BX2440 - Nice find!!

pity about the 5ms though... do you think that's gonna matter much? my current monitor is samsung 2232GW (2ms)

And where would one get it? I did a search, and came up with nivo.co.za, for R 2,359.00 (incl. VAT). Does anybody know/use them?
 
Dell U2311H I would really go with IPS if I need to look at them for 8hrs or more a day. You should be able to fit them in your budget.
 
Thanks... I just looked it up, and found the Dell UltraSharp U2410, which looks even more impressive!

Nor are the Samsungs you've spoken about. Well, technically not. They are LED edge-lit LCDs - only the edges are lit with LED, and the technology is still 95% the same as straight LCD. The only real difference is that LED-backlit LCDs' panels are thinner (bezels aren't) and the dynamic contrast is higher on LED-backlit LCDs (means nothing to the user using it under "normal" viewing conditions). "LED screens" and "LED TVs" are the biggest scam yet - always better going for a higher-end LCD TV that costs the same as a lower end "LED" TV. Anyway, enough about TVs.

You should go for the HP ZR24W - it's cheaper than the Dell with the same specs as well as USB ports. Except, it has a 5ms response, making it good for games. But the main difference as said is the price, coming in at about R4600 per screen, meaning you should get two now and another later, if you really need Eyefinity...
 
The U2311H is around R2300 each, so it fits your budget. There is no comparison between TN and IPS, be it LED tech or not, IPS wins hands down. And unless you are going 120Hz TN panel, the dell will most likely have better response time in the real world. I have measured Samsung "2ms" panels at 25ms GTG response, where IPS usually meets the claimed times.

23" IPS for R2300? Wow. Thought the HP was the cheapest ±24"!
 
Sorry, looks like that price is ex vat. But still an awesome price for IPS, I agree.
 
The link you gave says its wall mountable. I'm pretty sure it will be vesa 100x100. I also like 16:10 more. The diffs between 8ms and 5ms is small enough, plus I have seen a panel(well the panel itself manufactured by the same company) in a dell and an HP, where dell rated it 16ms and hp 8ms... But most importantly, the dell fits in the budget...

Not wanting to to off-topic, but are the new apple LED backlit displays, (in the macbook pro's as well), IPS? Regardless, they are truly awesome, and viewing angles are superb.

The specs on that HP ZR24w look quite impressive:

Main thing that bothers me, is the power consumption, at ~85W... 3 of those, all day, would add up to quite a bit of power. Whereas 3 of the Samsung BX2440 would use ~75W total, less than one of the HP...

About the U2311H, it looks cool, but I would rather go for 24" as its much more of an upgrade from 22", than 23" is... Or do you think going with 23" x3 and IPS would be better, than 24" x3 and no IPS?

I'd definitely go for 3*23"IPS over even 3*27"TN. I'm pretty sure the macbook pros have IPS panels, most likely also LED backlit.

I think all Macbooks still use TN LCD? I actually thought the new Macbooks had IPS, but then I Googled and it seems I was wrong. :confused:

The Cinema Displays are IPS, as well as the better iMacs. ;)

3 x 23" IPS would obliterate 3 x 24" LED. The difference between TN and IPS is night and day.

Hectic, did not know IPSes use quite a bit more electricity. But to be honest, if you use the PC a lot, you owe yourself IPS. Especially cause it's easier on the eyes.
 
Yep, I use my pc all day - every day, so really wanna treat myself :D

I just checked the power on the Dell U2311H 23" monitor, it says 33W! Wow, that's almost as good as LED backlit ones.... :wtf:

But where could one get it locally?! All the price check websites return nothing :confused:

Also, it says it doesn't include a DisplayPort cable. Any idea where I could get one locally?
