So im planning on buying a new monitor, however I cannot decide which of these 2 would be the best. I would have preferred on a 16:10 monitor, however I cannot seem to find any. So out of these 2 monitors, which one would be better?
 
Nivo.co.za has some listed. Look for the models with 1920 x 1200 resolution.

(never bought from them but their selection is impressive)

I presume you know how movies will look on that screen?

The Sammy T(series) T24/T26 is 16:10 I believe.
Between the two you have listed would go for the 27". Size does matter :P
 
The BX2450h has better image quality, not by a huge amount but it is LED edge lit which makes a difference, and the pixel density is higher. But you can't believe the difference 27" screen can make, so I'd have to go with that tbh. Right now it's r2200 at Take2 as well which is a brilliant price.

If you want 16:10 and can spend a bit more...

I would like to get the T260, unfortunately can't find them anywhere. I'm more of a samsung fan tho.

They're EOL. There are a few second-hand ones about.

If you were talking about the Asus, Asus is regarded as one of the top tier brands. I've only heard good things about their screens.
 
That article is misleading, or should I say Samsung-slanted. Just because Samsung have gone el-cheapo on us does not mean they aren't available from other good manufacturers.

I love my T260 too, but next time will not buy a Samsung 16:9 in place of a 16:10 from another manufacturer, ever.

I would tend to agree with kayvee and Lounger, if you can get your hands on the 16:10 monitors and afford it, then grab them!

Nivo has some pretty decent pricing on monitors and regular specials. They are a very reputable company - I have dealt with them and their owner for years now and have had no issues what so ever. In addition, their ordering system is out of this world :)

One more thing that would help in making your purchase is doing a price check using www.pricecheck.co.za

I had that the same choice mid December. A couple reviews for the BX2450 I've read wasn't favourable (poor color reproduction and heavy bad back-light bleeding) and it doesn't have DVI, only 2 HDMI's, but I compared both side by side at Tafelberg furnitures and couldn't tell much of a difference image quality wise. I decided to go for the 27" because it needs to double as a display for my PS3 every now and then and bigger is better for consoles. I'm still happy with my choice. :)

Indeed. At the end of the day they are both LCDs. :p
