P2P download speeds - ADSL shaped vs dialup unshaped

I currently get constant 5Kb download speeds on dialup while using LimeWire.
If I had to sign up for 192Kbps or 384Kbps ADSL 3G Shaped, what P2P download speeds could I expect?

On ADSL, the actual effect of shaping on peer-to-peer is unclear to me.

with dialup torrents are useless because you need broadband. if you have 384k, you can expect (Depending on the swarm) at least 40kb/s download speeds
 
OK thanks, but if I didn't use torrents, and still used regular P2P applications, what sort of download speed could I expect on 192 or 384K shaped packages?

I want an idea/comparison of how dialup unshaped compares to ADSL shaped in terms of P2P applications.
 
International torrents are horrible on shaped adsl Globetrotter, sometimes I wish I had 56k rather than getting those super fast 1kB/s downloads. Local torrents do go very fast though. (when im lucky i do get over 10kB/s on some of my torrents) :/

im sure limewire would be pretty bad aswell ;p
 
Well, you could sort these hassles out with our VPN setup.
 
I use ares with 384adsl alone and i get constant speeds of 10-15KB/S.When i d/l a popular file with good sources it's between 25-30kB/S.Now i live in a remote part of the country,where i think not many people have adsl.Could that be the reason for this "good" speeds cuz it seems my p2p is not shapped.My torrents however is 1-5kB/S and web downloads is mostly constant 50-55kB/S.
 
I have a 192kb account at telkominternet, downlaoding @ a constant 32kb/s using openweb proxy account. Managed to download 3gig in one day.
