N8 wireless connecting to telkom's internet..

Hey

I have a N8... It can connect to the wireless at home, but the thing is, I can't connect without the telkom log in thingy..

So I want to know if anyone know how to use the wireless and setup a connection thingy (Like on your computer) on the N8

Sorry, was is the Telkom log in thingy in detail?

How do you connect to with your PC? Via wireless or direct connection with username and password?
 
I don't think it's possible to initiate a PPPoE session from the N8. You'll have to configure the router to dial the connection, then you can use wireless. Will have a look.

first thing you need to do is set up the wifi on your telkom router, if you have the cd that came with the router just use that to acess the router setting and set up the wifi (which router do you have?)
you will need to create a name for the wifi aces point and a password (WEp or WPA etc). make sure you crreat a pswword or anyone within wifi range can use your net acess
once thats set up use the phone to conect to the wifi and it will ask you for the password that you created above, and bobs your uncle acess.
Yes it works as my dad has the old black/ grey telkom router and my aunt as the new whit one and i managed conect all my nokia phones to there wifi networks (x6, 5800, n78, and my mom has an n8 so it works too)

Well on my computer I have a wireless USB thingy.. And as for the log in thing.. I just say add a new connection (Then internet.. etc etc.. )

But obviously, the N8 doesn't have the function of the Window 7.. so I can't add the connection.. and that's what's I'm missing from the wireless.. :(

Ah.. change the router settings.. mm.. I don't have a clue on how to do that..

N8 is awesome.. But something went wrong.. not too happy, but am over it now.. :)
 
Oh.. forgot to ask.. are you also going to get one?

I would reccomend you.. it's really nice.. but there is a few things to becarefull of :P

I have the default telkom 384k moderm.. the one with the "DO" and "56k" on it..

As for the password.. yes I have one.. it's a WPA.. But the password came with the Router.. And it's installed on another computer (Because the USB is connected through that one.. ) Which i rate is fine.. because I once did connect it to my phone and it worked.. but it's not working now :(

I tried to connect.. but it's not working.. keeps saying something like invaild server name or something stupid.. Sigh.. **

when all else fails reboot the modem?
u did say it used to work, so just try thst, stupid answer but sometimes its the simplist thing that works
