Unshaped on 1 Nov ?

I have a 4GB Unshaped ADSL account going via SAOL.

Since I had this account I had a constant 317ms ping to google,
306 to World of Warcraft.

Since this morning @ 11 every one of my graphs have jumped with 150ms, and have an average packet loss of 15% as well.

Anybody else experiencing this ? I am trying to figure out if this is a problem with my ISP or with Telkom. I specifically pay a lot of money to get a very low ping, having a 500ms ping, I could just as well go back to Sentech.

Try an app called cfosspeed to smooth out lag spikes.

bin3, I just signed up for an Axxess unshaped account and have been getting a latency of 500-600ms. This is not what I was expecting . I'm also specifically paying more to get decent pings. This is my tracert to the WoW servers:

I am currently playing SWG and it's completely unplayable where I have a p-loss of 30-40%

This does not bode well, If I can't play my mmo's I have no use for ADSL....

Exactly - This is bs... Maybe it's just the first of the month? I'll give it until tomorrow.

Some more info ...

It seems there is a problem with the IP allocation for the unshaped accounts and we have been moved to the shaped IP allocation.

SAOL & SAIX are looking into this and it will hopefully be fixed as soon as possible.

Mine is sorted again, though I had to change my user name to force it to the unshaped IP's. I don't want to give the change here, as I don't know if it was a test just for myself or if it is a global fix for all the SAOL users.

Please contact the SAOL support team if your problem still persists.

As of 1 Nov you need an unshaped username. WA usernames now have ".unshaped" appended.

FYI unshaped IP range is : 165.165.0~31.X

I have been with SAOL for about 5 months, and never have I experienced sub 400 pings consistently (EU Servers). And I stand corrected but none of my guild mates have either .

Anyway thanks for the FYI will email SAOL this morning.

Hi Matt
Just bought a gig of unshaped but the username i was emailed does not have ".unshaped" appended. I have connected with the setting given and i appear to be in the shaped pool.
Where do i tag the .unshaped on??

Hi all,

For SAOL accounts you need to append @saolun to your username on your router, this will ensure that you are in the correct pool.
