South Africa.
Had this before a few time and had to phone support who later phones back, tells me to switch router off for 20 minutes and issue will be resolved.

Which is does. Don't know what they do but International becomes usable again.

A couple days ago international was $h!7 slow, but because I was using it during the day I didn't stress too much as I knew business were priority and maybe they were using extra bandwidth.
However today I checked my downloads and STEAM and the numbers didn't add up.
STEAM and anything local is fine.

But no matter what I used, international was slow. YouTube, speedtets.net, Skype, torrents, direct downloads, plain surfing, etc.
So I waited till nightfall and no improvement.

I'm going to have to phone Openweb support tomorrow morning but I need to ask if other people have this issue?
And most importantly WTF is going on?

I have been with openweb for 6 months + and I have only had to do this a few times so it's not enough to jump ship. And when it's working it's working like a champ and my bandwidth monitor will show a straight line around the 38KB mark at any time during the day for international and only torrents during office hours will be around the 10-15KB mark. So overall I'm loving this product and because my days off mostly land during weekdays I can still Skype and YouTube during office hours.

It's just a pain in arse when I get randomly downgraded to Dialup.

Half past midnight and time to pass out.

I assume you tried switching your router off for 20 minutes without phoning them? Though if it did work, that still isn't a good solution to keep doing to resolve the problem.
I wouldn't be surprised if maybe your IP address was getting stuck in some pool of bandwidth marked for abuse of something and somehow not getting released at a certain point?
I would suggest asking OpenWeb next time you phone. I wouldn't be surprised though if an OW person responds here though, as I would certainly be interested in what is happening.

I can confirm that it was crawling at one stage -though not as bad as what you had it. I emailed support with a pic of a http download crawling at 4kB/sec, they (Keoma) replied within an hour, I followed instructions, http jumped back to around 50kB/sec and torrents back to around 30 kB/sec (good seeding AND during office hours.)

I'm always surprised when they respond so fast, just not used to it in this country.

EDIT: Incidentally, I'm also on the 384 Gold

im also having terrible issues with speed on my 384 gold account, emailed keoma last night and he moved me to the turbo network, seems a lil better but not by much :( my torrents still averaging <3kbps will check how they perform tonight and will try switching of the router for 20min as suggested above.

Right now this torrent I'm busy with is SCREAMING between 35-40kB/sec...veeery nice.

International access via OpenWeb is DEFINITELY screwed up atm.

Ive been trying to open my Gmail for 45 mins now, still not through.
How the hell am I supposed to email Keoma when I CANT OPEN MY EMAIL??!!?!

drop him a pm. he always replies promptly

Call logged via phone.
Hopefully will be fixed soon.
International is virtualy dead and speedtest.net doesn't even load. :(

mine seems to be totally dead now too :(

"Missing License Key
The licence for the Speed Test is missing.
Please contact the webmaster of this site to let them know."

Lol, thats what I get when I go to speedtest.net

Hectic...maybe I'm hogging all your bandwidth:p , because this torrent is still cruising around 35kB/sec and my browsing is snappy as ever.

PM Mr.BEEP, he'll sort you out.

Just woke up and...

Didn't think it could get worse. Even local is slower than normal.

@Sl@er: Shot, MrBEEP got PM'd earlier.

Got PM from MrBEEP.
Been testing for nearly and hour and it's much better now.
Nearly a flat line at the 40KB mark with the Need For Speed HP update of 102MB.
Torrents, STEAM, Skype, Youtube also tested and found to be back to normal.

Don't know what was broken but got a new login for my router.

Will see how it goes through the night and during office hours tomorrow.

I'm on the lite package but also received new login credentials from MrBeep and am also on the neology backbone now. And MrBeep confirmed that it is correct. Wondered what happend and if there is other users that's on the lite package that also been moved to another backbone?

Just one thing I noticed, is that now anything hosted on mweb is going internationally (not peered). Don't know if it is just by me.

openweb is having really horrible speeds, don't call the support number thou!!

it's your PC or router reboot them and try again... wtf guys?

when you do get them to investigate it takes almost 24 hours to get any real feed back out of them and then it's "we have upgraded you to "x" service please use these new details"

so the services they are selling.... read the fine print or rather just stay with a real ISP pay a lil extra but get what you pay for!!!

dude, why dont you just take your two posts, stick it up your arse and **** off.

Seriously, dont you have anything better to do with your time? Or doesnt Mweb pay you enough?
