According to a report in Bild, Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg have decided to hand gifted playmaker Diego a €100,000 fine following the midfielder's behaviour in the Woelfe's 1-0 loss against Hannover at the weekend.

The 2008-09 league champions were awarded a spot kick in the 80th minute when they were trailing 1-0. Patrick Helmes is now Wolfsburg's first option to take spot kicks, but Diego took the ball away from the Germany international to step up himself.

Diego then hit the cross-bar with his attempt and the Woelfe went on to lose the game 1-0, much to the dismay of head coach Steve McClaren.

"It drives me crazy when players don't listen to the orders I give and overrule my decisions," Steve McClaren was quoted as saying after the game.

The former Juventus midfielder was not only handed a hefty fine, but he'll also be dropped from the starting XI for the upcoming match against Hamburg.

The Brazilian playmaker has climbed to 156th position in the Castrol Rankings following his performances in the past twelve months.
