SAOL disconnections!

I'm now with the SAOL 10 gig option(1 logon)... i find that if i reset my router that i cannot log back into saol for about 10 minutes... all i get is PPPOE_FAIL.... my router retires and retries and eventually gets itself into a knot and dies.

I disconnect to so I can go check my usage, but its rather annoying to have to wait so long before i can logon again.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

Some comment on a WebAfrica thread this morning said The Telkom radius server blocks authentication requests for 15 minutes or so for any host that fails any single request.

I got the same problem!!!!! I use the telkom modem.

also got the dumb telkom modem!
however i doubt its the modem really!
i can log out of saol and then right into mweb, but not back into saol

Instead of resetting your router - try using the PPPOE disconnect function (assuming it has one) - this will ensure that we get your stop record and our system will know you have logged off.

ok, I haven't disconnected since I got my account, but when I try checking my usage it simply rejects my id ans password, and I made sure I typed them correctly

I used to type just my name, then later [email protected] into the user zone password

you gotta login as [email protected] .... took me a while to figure it out...

still having problems with router resets though

yep, also had to work that out...

most frustrating tho... i get disconnected for no reason and struggle to get back on the network.

making the router disconnect first does seem to help.... but its these disconnections that arent caused by me that give me a hasssle

yeah its obviously got to do with the 1 concurrent connection. the authentication server doesnt know we're actually logged out...
