Remote logon Help

Im a newbie at this so pls excuse my ignorance.
How do I connect to a remote pc.
I have a Telkom ADSL 5100 Router at the office and when I try and connect to it from my remote location using the current IP address all I get is the Router setup page instead of the application Im trying to access (DVR).
I have managed often to do this using a dial up.

Im confused and have read this board re: port forwarding etc. I have also dis-ablelled all firewalls that I can see but cannot seen to win and Telkom is absolutely useless.

I would appreciate any suggestions.
 
You need to forward the ports DVR uses from the router to your local PC.

Follow this guide, and substitute the appropriate port numbers (no idea what they are, or what DVR is for that matter ;))

Yes, of course ;) I should have realised it had to be port 80 if you got your router setup page anyway.
