type of internet to get for our company

Howdy

Ok so im not sure if this is the right place to place this thread. Also my knowledge on this subject is extremely limited but here goes....

Our company is currently splitting from another company which we worked with as our businesses are both growing and expanding into different directions.
We had access to the other company's ADSL line and ISP for which we paid rent to them.
We have now decided to get our own ADSL line and ISP.

Any idea on who to get besides Telkom and what kind of bandwith to get? Also which ISP would be best to use? We definitely want a 4mb line.

I already know what the line rentals, installations and so forth will costs but its the bandwith that i require the info on as in what kind of packages there are available.

I have already received 1 quote from Vox Datapro for an unshaped/uncapped bandwith and at R2600 per month rental that's a bit steep and i know the bosses will not go for it.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Neotel fibre offerings is also good we must check if there is fibre in your street
 
lol DON'T go for NeoFail or IBust, the best you can go for is for sure MWeb. You can probably just get a 4Mb 'normal' customer line instead of business and be fine. It's not like you guys will be downloading tons of movies at work, this should help with the price.
 
Mweb uncapped works for us.

We use it for remote desktop and remote administration, works great.

4Mb should be considered entry-level, don't get anything slower than that. If you can get a 10Mb line, go for it.

Also, you'll have to consider having a firewall and web content filter in place to protect vulnerable Windoze from poxy viruses and trojans as well as hackers.

If CellC coverage is good in your area, then the 5Gb prepaid option might work as well for you if your company won't pull over 5Gb a month.

And do stay away from Neotel and iBurst.

Ok so will have a look at Mweb and will contact them today and see what i can get.

Also the Cell C 5gb option will not work for us as receive and send lots of documents via e-mail, video conferencing with clients overseas, as well programs that we use to communicate with our clients (we do legal work for banks) and everyone here is used to having internet so telling them that they will not be able to go on certain sites as the bandwidth might run out, is not going to go down well.
