I offically cancelled my account with Mweb. speed were horrible and was just wasting my money. on 384 after a week i forgot about my dl as it was too slow. now when i want something to watch i get it in no time. streaming supersport and dl in the background with no issues. torrents running over 200k and maxing my http with 420k.now i feel like this is how the internetz suppose to be, not like in the adverts making coffee and play the waiting game.

i'm a happy chappy for now
:D

So you're saying that a TRL 4mbps capped account performs much better than an MWEB 384kbps (shaped? uncapped?) account?

Yeah I'd be interested to know if he's spending less than what he was previously. I'm sure MWEB would've been hospitable enough to offer a test account at the higher circuit speed.

You do know MWEB also has 4meg right?

I have not used Mweb 4meg uncapped shaped account, but had the 384k uncapped shaped. i'm now on 4meg unshaped with a cap of 30GB which is enough for my needs. more cap would be better, but i go according my budget. i get discount on my line and pay R300 extra what i use to pay mweb before (all incl.). i don't know how mweb's 4megs shape accounts perform, but, my streaming watching epl, Pro 20 and the rugby with any glitch. i will try the wow ping when i get home this afternoon. i have posted my speedtest. will post it for you guys.

Ok. I was just pointing out that of course you would expect a 4mbps capped (therefore unshaped) account to dramatically out-perform a 384kbps uncapped, shaped account. You've changed every aspect of the account.

no problem SabreWolfy
i pay almost the same as the 384k uncapped peeps

The MWEB all-inclusive 384kbps uncapped shaped account is R349, which obviously includes the 384kbps line rental; it's R219 without the line rental bundled in.

What's the TRL 4mbps (unshaped) 30GB capped account cost?

Mwebs uncapped unshaped is R499 right?

Mwebs uncapped unshaped is R499 right?

MWEB uncapped unshaped 384kbps account only is R499; R629 with bundled line rental.

All I'm saying is that of course a 4mbps capped unshaped account will be better (and more expensive) than a 384kbps uncapped shaped account. I'm just not sure what the point of the thread is though...?

I'm also confused - your comparing a 384Kbps line with a 4Mbps line and saying the 4Mbps line is faster....ummmm...I should hope it is!

I guess he's saying the extra R341 p/m (R970 (Trl 4Mb 30Gig) - R629(Mweb 384k uncapped)) is worth it for the speedzzz?

@OP, do you play xbox live on the Trl account? If so how much better is the lag?

And comparing a (shaped) uncapped account with an unshaped capped one. Of course torrents will be faster. And the line is 10 times faster. So it's obviously "better". It's also almost double the price.

The cost the OP mentioned to me via PM was less than R970.

384kbps MWEB uncapped shaped is R349 all-inclusive. R970 from TRL is almost three times that price.

How the hell can 384k shaped be compared to 4Mb unshaped.

Hey guys my Ferrari is faster than your bicycle

@Shayd

I am not comparing the 2, but only indicating the massive differences. by paying extra you get the benefit out of it. as i sais previously. it all depends on your needs. if you don;t need to stream or youtube and don;t mind waiting some time for your dl, then 384 is for you. if you need to stream, good latencie and get your stuff quickly then you need to upgrade. it does not neccesarily mean that you have to have uncapped because of the fast line. do you actually watch 100gb and more in a month.
