Sorry, but have I missed some updated news perhaps?
 
That title is completely incorrect and creates the assumption that ADSL has become cheaper when in fact it has become more expensive.

Can we not delete this thread as it raises ones hopes but when you read it its just basically some marketing gumph with incorrect information!!! The price drop they talk about was 3+ months ago WHEN HIGHER CAP ACCOUNTS WERE STILL AVAILABLE! Now those accounts cost more than the farking line rental.

Don't bother reading the 'article' - ADSL has not become cheaper.
 
Yeah, I see how the minute ADSL price drop helps the other 80% of the population who cant even afford a telephone

Where is this constant drop??? One price decrease since inception barely qualifies as being classified as constant.

Isn't Blackdot IT the one that does all 5fm's content. And I believe Steve Smith is also a DJ/used to be with 5fm. I think his nickname is Peewee, but I might be mistaken.

@Steve... A little less pot dude, and please get your facts straight and up to date, you are involved in media after all. :p

Slashing prices 3 times in 1.5 months only points out the fact that you might have been overcharging to begin with.

No dude... the reason why a lot of people are still on Dial-up is because ADSL prices in SA are a complete ripoff. Trust me, I'm one of them.

If this pay-per-gig system of Telkom was scrapped (or at least made VERY affordable) and the LINE rental was also basically scrapped, I think even "e-mail internet users" would go the ADSL route. But of course, Telkom won't like that one bit. Dial-up is too much of a revenue source for them to simply move people away from.
 
ROFL - a word of caution, don't use Black Dot as your ISP they seem to be even more behind than Telkom!
 
I have to agree with rest of the people in this thread, that article is really misleading.
 
I sent them a mail requesting clarification as to why they are purporting that ADSL is getting cheaper when the reverse is in actual fact true.

As yet I have not received a response. Typical!
