ICASA to query Telkom ADSL pricing

Bah .... another inquiry.

You'd think they had enough information from everyone on MyADSL that sent info too them.

**YAWN** other 6 months later and there will be another finding to investigate the first findings lack of progress... heavens sake DoC and Mbeki have said Telkom is a Ripoff. Doesnt ICASA read the papers?

Wow a whole month after we told them about it and they told us that SAIX is not part of Telkom. Another bunch of nitwits. Fire them and let us get a group that is interested in doing something!

All I hear is some yapping in the distance - I have yet to actually see the ICASA mongrel put the bite on Telkom.

If the retards STILL haven't released any interim regulations around their "findings" document, what hope do we have regarding the November changes.

I think the best way to get any kind of result with Telkom is to bypass ICASA completely and go straight to the courts.

Only because IS is raised the issues. What about the rest Icasa
ICASA councillor Mamodupi Mohlala says the lack of an accepted definition for broadband is hampering the formulation of regulations and policy.

“Comparisons with similar services in other countries are difficult because there is a wide difference in opinion over what speeds constitute broadband,” she said.

BS Mamo, please read the forum and see what is happening in the rest of the worlds. It is comments like this that gives TELKOM the leeway to continue their unmoral practices

Yay more talk!!!

Remind me what the last ADSL enquiry thing lead to...? I think we're still waiting to find out. Maybe they're just going to quietly laugh it off after their private meetings with Telkom...

Aaaaauururgghhh.

We really do live in the arse end of the world don't we ? Conjecture, fingerpointing and misinformation.

Welcome to Africa.

ICASA is useless.

Why not rather state in the media release that ICASA had already engaged in talks with Telkom, than saying it wants to have talks.

ICASA is failing us time and again.

ICASA why don't you sort out the 1st inquiry and then work on this one.......how long have we been waiting for the line rental and cap to be sorted.......I guess we should have a nice present under the tree by NEXT Christmas

/me looks under bed and digs out thumb screws, oils them and puts them in a box marked ATT: ICASA

All ICASA seem to have done is run back to their Telskum bosses who must have said, you've done enough. That should keep the suckers quite for a while so we can extort more money out of them.

They must get quite a nice kickback from Telskum

Another day in the dark ages..........
Methinks the light at the end of this tunnel is a gravy train.

Do you think they would have something to do if they actually sat down and made a decision? Meetings keep them employed.

but surely 'if' icasa find discrepencies in their findings this will add fuel to further ligation by ISP's?

Question: Im paying telkom for my adsl line, right?

but now they have caped me on the 10th, but i have payed for the whole month. So dont they owe me some money???

Good point... you dont have the facility to use your ADSL line if you are hard capped. And paying for a service that you did not receive is fraud? theft? . :-) (well.. maybe not theft.. but close enough)
