We have been with Mweb for years since the days of dial up internet. Our company has 12 branches in South Africa making use of Mweb.

I recently picked up that Mweb has failed to migrate us to the correct pricing for our ADSL accounts. Well aware we are not tied to any contracts, I realise that they have been happily billing us for months at a rate of more than 200% higher than their current standard rates!

When I contacted the Mweb Business Call Centre to inform them that I had picked up that we were being over charged, I was promptly told that I must contact our Mweb Account Manager Vanie Rajah who will attend to my inquiry.

15 days later of politely & patiently emailing& phoning to request Vanie Rajah to resolve a simple issue of migrating our accounts to the correct advertised rates of R29 per Gb instead of the R59.80 that they have been billing us at per Gb. This adds up to a substantial amount with the amount of data that we use.

After virtually no feedback or any confirmation that the issue will be resolved after 15 day even while I CC their main Business Centre email, it seems our only resort will be to cancel all our Business with Mweb which is really inconvenient.

Hi Trending,

Please PM me your contact and/or account details. I'll ensure your issue gets promptly resolved.

Lol, my thoughts exactly. At least a Business subscriber makes a refreshing change from the usual lot moaning about their poor torrent throughput.

That's what I thought. @OP: pm one of the MWEB dudes and I'm sure you will get sorted.

I feel for you trending. My client renewed their 2-year contract with them. Its a painful nightmare. Their prices are bad, speaking or organizing with a business consultant is appalling. Whats worse is that they FORCE that cisco router down your throat and you cant make changes to it. You have to speak to a consultant - he or she must then get a techie to login and do it for you.

I decided screw that and I put in a netgear router and elegantly got the username and password to the account from them.

Screw them in all honestly.

Sorry to be a stickler, but R59.80 is 106% higher than R29. "More than double" would be the correct phrase to use.

one can imagine how more than double can turn to be more than 200%. just trying to add the mathematical understanding to the more non-mathematical person.

hopr the OP's issues are resolved satisfactory. I would also suggest that at the least a brief description of how things turn out is posted here.

Hi Trending

Hi SabreWolfy,

I understand your concern and truth be told I also wouldn't PM my details to just anyone on any forum for that matter.

I can however confirm that both Roman@mweb and 2wheels are members of the MWEB family. ;)

I've been working with Mweb over the last 2 years and can tel you that their prices are really not that bad. If your Account Manager is crap just ask for another one. There tech support have always been helpful. There is also a very good reason that the router is managed by them.
