Hi, I have been using CellC/Iburst wireless internet for the last 3 years. I have giving up on the poor performance and service I have received and not being able to rely on the products.

I live with my parents in Durbanville. They have a telkom prepaid phone in the house. They dont want me to convert the prepaid to account etc because of past billing issues with Telkom.

Can someone advise me on what will be the cheapest complete setup to have ADSL say in my room. Lines + ISP's recommended and everything I will need and have to pay. I am clueless regarding fixed lined operators and the cost involved.

I need atleast 5Gig cap per month. I also not a huge downloader, but would want to be able to watch a standard video on youtube for example without too much buffering time.

Thanks in advance for any assistance and advice.

Look at Telkom.co.za under products then ADSL and then cost to get cost of line. Your internet portion must be added to that and can cost between R29 per month and R3000 per month, depending on what you choose.

I have a 4MB line with MWEB Uncapped and my total bill is R952 per month. I can get this reduced to R899 if I get the line as well through Mweb. I am however using more than 100GB per month on average. For this usage CellC will never work.

Telkom has a product called dobroadband 2 which includes 384 ADSL access and 5GB Data and 20 GB of local data for R258 however this excludes the normal line rental of R130. Also remeber that their service is non proration therefore your first bill will be double and thereafter charged +/- R388 per month.
