Reputable Website - Free Images/Fonts

Hello,

I'm a junior web developer. I would like to be able to add some content to my first freebie sites without paying R150- 1000 for simple photographs from istockphoto.com

I did find another website with some free images, but I was hoping there are more.
Secondly what is your opinions about using unique fonts on your site? I realise the client will need to have these fonts on their pc in order for it to display, unless its inside a flash layer or so?

Lets say I would like to have someone create a nice animated flash logo for the website, how much would that cost per page? Average 4 animated logos (headers) for the site.

Any content you place on the web has to be your own or you will face a number of copyright issues. It's great that you want to give things away for free but then it must be yours to give.

You can use different fonts on your site using @face-font css. No flash required and rather easy to do. As a rule of thumb thought I would suggest not using more then 3 fonts on your site. Also don't use to weird fonts. Keep them simple and stylish.

The flash headers. Well depending on size and what type of effects as well as who you hire the price could change from designer to designer.
 
Oh I thought you want to make a web site that gives free things. If I am correct you just looking for free stocks. There are number of places however the quality will not be as good as paid stocks.

You can try http://www.sxc.hu/ or just google "free stock images" and you should find a few.

I would just check on the licensing thou. You maybe not be allowed to redistribute.

Fonts can be tricky with the license. Just google commercial free fonts
And check the license that you can redistribute( unlikely) and use them commercially

BTW tweak, don’t waste your time trying to design your first site as a free distribution crap thing
Rather go to 99 designs .com and enter one of the menymeny briefs and actually do real world work. And you might just win some dollars and develop a portfolio
