Party poorer

This proposal, if implemented, would allow rivals access to the cables at much-reduced prices and should help bring down SA's high bandwidth costs. "It's a Telkom asset. The shareholders have invested in that asset," he says.
WTF is this ou talking about?

Broadband - Molotsane wants to increase the penetration of broadband (fast Internet access) from 2% of its customer base today to up to 20%, or almost 1m customers, in the next three years.
A lot of people love giving half their salary to their telephone company.

Expansion in Africa - the company is exploring opportunities in Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola and Nigeria. Molotsane says Telkom won't make investments that are not in the interests of shareholders.
they are coming for you... run while you can and dont eva look back.

The cables are a Telkom asset? The shareholders invested in that assest?

Erm, it was built on tax payers money you fool.

The article says Telkom was partly privatised when the cable was laid but still that share should be bought out at least

Bah. Telkom are just as power hungry as ever. So what if the shareholders invested in the bloody cable. Taxpayers are the ones who payed for the sodding thing.

Triple-play services delivering telephony, Internet and video-on-demand - by mid-2006, Telkom will launch a trial network, together with Microsoft and Alcatel, to test the delivery of television via the Internet (known as IPTV ).

I would really, really like to see Telkom justify giving video on demand over the lines but claiming that there just isn't enough available bandwidth for basic broadband.

You think the TV will be capped?

Sorry Craig

I think Mr Craig is also inflating the figures here. How many of his 19 Million subscribers are still active. I have three kids and they have sim cards on MTN Voda and CellC. Neither does Vodacom know how many of their 19 million subs are active they just count sims and say this are how fast we grow.

Yup, we know Knott-Craig is a siffy and a liar... disgusting piece of work.... yuk.
