Is my internet slow, cause it seems fast?

I was reading the threads about 4mb lines and I know in our area we don't have that luxury so I went to the Telkom site and took a speedtest.

Now I have no idea what this all means but when I compared my results they looked bad compared to the rest of South Africa and Telkom.

my ping test said 54ms
download was 0.31Mbps
upload was 0.11Mbps

I think my line is a 512 line.

What does this all mean, is it bad cause everything seems fast?

Those line statistics are fine for a 384k line not a 512 line. Perhaps confirm what line speed you have from Telkom 1st.
 
Would I have to phone telkom to confirm my line or is there somewhere online to check my line?

If it sounds like it is a 384 line and those specs are ok then thats fine.
 
Your ADSL modem / router has the stats, usually under 'status'. You need to log in to the modem web interface. But the old adage "If it ain't broke....." springs to mind here. :)
 
ha ha ha yeah with my luck i will have a thread here soon on how to fix my modem.
