Is it possible to fix a motherboard?

I have a mb that has blown one of those caps. its an intel 915 mb and the cap is sitting just next to the pci-express slot for the gfx card. Is it possible to replace it, or something and if so, where or who?
 
Short answer is probably yes.
However, it will most likely not be worth the bother. Labour costs and the time spent finding someone who can do it will be more costly than buying a new one. (Assumming this is a standard mb and not some specialist equipment).
 
Definately possible, fairly easy if you know how to solder. Or you could ask Kei, i saw in the fried motherboard thread he said he repairs motherboards, maybe PM him

find another dead motherboard and salvage it off that.

It is possible, ...I'm not saying YOU can do it, but a person who solders a bit here and there can figure it out. Tv repair shops etc etc...but, ya, finding the capacitor is gonna be a problem (preferably you want a new one, with nice and straight legs to make your job easier, but a salvaged one *may* work)...you can use the same, or higher voltage, but it has to be v v v similar capacitance and I think the heat rating is 105deg.
