Then you will see a boom for adsl.The gov and telkom build a wall in the adsl river.
 
When you compare our service ... the capping and slow download/upload speed and the extreemly high price for ADSL ... to what they get in the UK, nevermind the USA, Telkom will never grow. It is one total rip-off and if it was not for the fact that the nature of my businesses demand I be online all the time, I would not give Telkom the luxury of ripping me off further.

It is time for all users to stand up for their rights ... why are we being taken for a ride this way?
 
I would argue let's not compare Telkom to the US and UK but to other 3rd world countries like India. But even there Telkom is left behind as if it is a Citi Golf racing a Ferrari.
 
I dont remember 4000 installations per week, I remember 4000 sign-ups per week... there is a vast difference there.
 
I wonder who is sponsoring our MoC's office furnature these days?

There are a few recent posts of people trying to get adsl installed and not - those seem more representative of service levels than what Mr. S. White (lies) says.

Why not compare it with the UK and USA after all we have plenty expat South Africans in IT living and working there because our levels were so high. I even know of a number of ex Telkom employees who are now working and living in the UK and Australia and they are much sought after.

The only thing that is holding this country back from being right up there with the 1st world countries ... is the greed of Telkom and nothing else.

Until we break the idea that ADSL and the Internet in South Africa is only for the domain of busineses and office workers ... there will be no growth. I see the Internet as being the domain of everybody in the same way as radios and Tv's are.
