In iTunes I have the list of iPhone/iPad apps and iPhone/iPod Touch. I am going to remove all the apps again that aren't made for the iPad.

However, in one of the descriptions of a recently purchases app they said you can install it on all your devices without having to repurchase it. When I downloaded something just now it told me I have already purchased it and I can download it again for free.

How would I know which ones I don't have to pay for again and which ones will be charged for when I attempt to download it on the iPad?

Is there a way to tell?

Can't you use a pc/mac to sync your apps from itunes to the new ipad?

You won't have to repurchase any apps for the iPad. When you sync the iPad with iTunes, you can choose to sync your already purchased apps with the iPad and you're good to go.

[edit]Also, if you don't sync with a PC, you should be able to just redownload the apps on the iPad, it won't charge your account if you already have the app.

I did sync with my Mac and it put all the apps on the iPad, however, many of them are only in iPhone resolution, hence too small for the iPad. They only take up a small part of the screen. Angry birds eg, I have all angry birds versions on the iPhone. But do I still have to buy angry birds HD for the iPad? So what I'm asking is if I still have to purchase all the HD iPad versions of an app despite having it purchased for the ipone already?

In that case, yes, you'll have to purchase the HD versions if the versions you have aren't universal apps. You can zoom the iPhone apps on the iPad, but it doesn't always look that good.

Okay, thanks. Seems I gotta go voucher shopping ;-)

i have a question.. I have some purchased apps on my iphone that i want on my ipad. Problem is the only pc i have now doesn't have my apps (never connected my iphone to it). And my problem is the 1 app (NAVV) is no longer available in the US itunes store (where i bought it). So i can't re-download it, unless i have a local account, which would mean me having to pay again?

When you sync your iDevice with a PC, it usually transfers the apps from the device to the PC that aren't on the PC. So it should sync NAVV to your PC, and you should them be able to transfer it to the iPad.
