Anyone know of the possibilities of putting a Towbar on this car? Bosal reckon they dont make one for this model and the one from agents is way to expensive. I am looking at Steelite, but will this affect my warranty/maintenance?

Please define way too expensive and what your price expectation is.

It seems like the average tow bar costs between R4000 R5000 on the average budget family vehicle.
Was R4500 for my Mazda Etude and R4500 (included for free) on the Kia Cerato.
IIRC: It costs about R7000 to add to a Mercedes C180.

Tow bars are one of those areas that I'd rather not skimp money on.
A "cheap" tow bar or badly fitted tow bar could end up costing a lot to fix.
Stress fractures in body work at mounting points, tow bar ripping out of body work and leaving trailer behind on freeway, wiring issues where the tow lights are not spliced into the vehicles electrical system correctly, etc.

I'm not sure what Honda charge but if it's under R6000 I'd say it's a reasonable price for peace of mind (warranty).

Honda was R8K.... Steelite is R2500. I am using it to move my bicycles. I put a Steelite on my GTI4 and used it to tow my motorbike and basically went all over country with no problem.

I am more concerned about maintenance and warranty plan as I think Steelite have been around for years and found no bad write ups

a few of the dealerships will charge you for an oem tow bar, and then send it to a local place to be fitted

Ive got the 08 Civic hatch. Mine came with the towbar fitted when I bought it. Ill have a look later if the receipt for it is in my file. I actually want to take it off, its one of those towbars with no power point (I assume just for a bike rack or something similar)
