Skype has been irritating me lately. Their speed of rollout has slowed down to a crawl lately. They are not adding many new countries to their SkypeOut Global Rate and their have been no new SkypeIn countries for ages.

It is just amazing to see quotes like this! This is a free product, with low call rates to landlines, and yet people still complain when they don't get new features quick enough. 60 million customers and growing fast - they must be doing something right.
Just wait until Ebay start using the skype platform as an advertising haven - then we will see bitching start. BUT until there is a viable alternative, these 60 million will continue to use Skype.
The problem with Skype not been able to add more countries to their global rate is that the local Telcos, like Telkom SA, will not play ball! It is not like Skype are making more profits on these calls, the Telcos are loading their interconnection charges, trying to curb the use if Skype.

Notice that the countries that form part of the Global Rate offer free local calls ...co-incidence you think? :P

Downloaded & installed [this the Windoze version], but I really wish Skype would release a more up to date Linux version [compared to Windoze]...:(Ditto with the mac version.

Installed and tested the skype beta 2 version. Test cam and voice at the same time. So far its looking better than anything else on the market, cam quality is much better, and other than iburst messing things up, voice was almost as clear at the same time.
Want to test unshaped adsl to unshaped sometime. would be nice if you can enable the cam window to always be on top of the other windows though.

okay dont know if this is a new feature or something, but its the first time i have noticed in.
When in conversations with people, text or other, i get a little padlock in the bottem right hand corner of my skype window, when I put my mouse over it, it says "this conversation is encrypted"... is this a new feature?
Either/or, its bloody useful
