Any premium German car that is out of its maintenance plan will be expensive to fix. Haven't you wondered why they suddenly become so affordable?![]()

Any german car period.
Have you driven the car?
I found the c230 very disappointing. It looked great, but went nowhere.
2002 75 000 KM - R125 000
Seems like a decent deal.
Are they insanely expensive to fix as apposed to other cars, say a Golf Tdi?
Um... thats a good car. Ask anyone who's worked on them, the C230 is quite something mechanically. And it's the best looking merc IMO.
Just don't lose the key... laser blah blah... 3 grand later for a replacement!

I drive an E39 5-series, with more than 150,000km on the clock. It's no more expensive to maintain than my in-laws' Corolla. It drinks plenty more, but maintenance isn't anything horrendous.
Is this the one with the supercharged 1.8? Those engines are know for alternater failures, in 2007(?) the dealer wanted nearly R13k to replace it.
