I've noticed that my iPhone 3G model is starting to do the "battery-is-now-old-and-does-not-want-to-last-that-long anymore" syndrome. It would be interesting to compare the battery life of your apple device when you bought it and now. This isn't really scientific due to multiple factors, including usage, area, games played on toilet :D etc. So we will make it easy. Assuming on average that the usage of the phone has stayed constant, what is the difference in battery life?

Mine is an iPhone 3G, 2 years and 8 months old. Use to last 3 days, now it is down to 1 1/2 - 2 days.

Also have the iPhone 3G and ya, mine also only lasts a day and a half. Hard to compare though cause I can't really remember and my usage has also completely changed since I got it.

When I do know that I need the phone to last longer though, I switch off wifi (sometimes 3G as well) and lower the brightness. I think the brightness makes a big difference. SBSettings makes this quick and painful.

My iPhone 3G is down to a day since I got it at launch day in 2008. Think it was September?

As soon as you start using apps like Facebook & WhatsApp....or MyBB, it just kills the battery.

The 412Mhz CPU & 128MB RAM just cant keep up anymore.

Got my iPhone 3G in feb or march 2009 and I'm lucky if I get a day out of it now..

Got my i4 in Oct 2010, I'm lucky to make it past 8pm this is after JB on 4.3.1

JailBreak seems to be the tipping point here so just be wary of it.

Well I have no intention of jailbreaking mine. I just always have one of the USB cables with me.

My iphone 4 usually lasts about a day with medium to heavy usage(internet, whatsapp, games etc.), i have the habit of charging it every night anyway so i dont really notice any drop in battery performance. The only thing i really noticed is having WiFi on though does cause it to drain quicker, which makes sense i guess.
